We got the HTC EVO 4G in our labs for testing some time go and it was the first 4G phone from America. Apple has now stolen HTC’s thunder by announcing iPhone 4. This handset is improved in many ways as compared to its already stellar predecessor. The specs have been improved in order to keep the phone on par with other cell phones in the competition. If you are tech enthusiast, chances are that you have seen Steve Job’s presentation about the new gadget. The cost of the eight GB model of iPhone 4 is $199 and 32 GB version will put you back by $299. As compared to this, the iPhone 3GS model is still there in the market for $99. iPhone 4 will released simultaneously in UK, Japan, Germany, France and US on June 24. Apple has promised to release this handset is about 88 countries by the end of this September.

Improved exteriors:

iPhone 4G’s back and front are made up of chemically strengthened glass which makes the phone even sturdier. Rest of the handset is consists of stainless steel and it has the antenna integrated in to it. According to Apple, this new iPhone is thinner by 24 percent as compared to iPhone 3GS.

Better processor:

iPhone previously was based on Samsung’s processor but now the company has come up with its own A4 chip. The processor is now faster and there are no compromises on battery life either. In fact, Apple says that the battery life of this product is now improved to seven hours which is 40 percent more, as compared to its predecessor. The motion sensing capabilities have been improved giving you a better gaming experience.

Better screen:

iPhone 4’s screen now packs in four times the pixels on the same size. You get a resolution of 960×640 which is really impressive for this kind of a screen.

Video calls:

Apple has put a camera on the front for making video calls and on the back you have a five mega pixel camera along with LED flash. Both of these can be used for shooting HD video and for making HD calls through the new FaceTime application. There is a catch though; video calls are only possible with other compatible iPhone users through Wi-Fi. Apple says that they don’t to overburden AT&T’s already stressed network. But they might enable this feature later.

iBookstore:

This was first seen on iPad and Apple is bringing this to the new iPhone. At the moment, there are 60,000 titles available for download and more than five millions titles have been downloaded till now.
The iPhone 4G also features new iOS4 and it promises a whole bunch of new stuff.
